Academy for Media Arts Cologne on air
REMOTEWORDS.25 “White Ground Black Square” on the roof of the Academy for Media Arts Cologne is already updated. The roof was installed and opened in January 2015 at their 25 years celebrations ceremony.
The QR code that is painted with the size of 121 squaremeters consists of 1056 single squares and can be scanned directly from the Google Earth web-interface.
“White Ground Black Square” refers to the famous painting of Kasemir Malewitch. Precisely 100 years after its creation and by the means of multiplication, the (analogue) black square turns to (digital) pixels that do not only work as an image but also as a machine-readable code.
